WNO Election Schedule Updates and Nomination Form Submission Deadline

As the executive body has committed to end the unjust environment and situation that has been arising on for some time at present, to ease this uneasy situation in the coming days, and to resolve the flaws and errors in the constitutional documents through the general assembly in the near future, on behalf of the WNO Election Committee (EC), based on the article 10.10 of the existing constitution, we’re pleased to announce the new updates on WNO Election Schedule with a new nomination date deadline.

 

On behalf of WNO Election Committee, we request all interested WNO members willing to serve their dedication, passion, and services to the WNO for its upliftment, are welcome to join the WNO Executive Board Member for 2022-2025.

 

The details of the updated election schedule are listed below. We believe in free, fair, and inclusive elections based on the guidelines of the Constitution of the World Newah Organization (WNO).

 

If you are interested in running for the office and meeting the qualification requirements (see below), please submit a completed nomination form (attached Appendix A) with payment via the WNO website https://www.worldnewah.org for the desired post and submit receipt to the Election Committee Chair via email to prajwal@engineer.com before the due date no later than Friday, July 8th, 2022, 11:59pm ET (US/Canada). Nominations submitted or received after the deadline will be disqualified.

 

There will be an election held for the following offices: 27 WNO Executive Board officers include

1. President. 1 Fee $ 500.00

2. Senior Vice President 1 Fee $ 300.00

3. Vice President 4 Fee $ 200.00

4. General Secretary 1 Fee $ 100.00

5. Secretary 2 Fee $ 100.00

6. Treasurer 1 Fee $ 100.00

7. Public relation Officer 1 Fee $ 100.00

8. Member 16 Fee $ 50.00

General Requirements and Information for all Candidates:

– The nomination and election of the officers will be conducted in accordance with the existing WNO Constitution

– Persons holding politically affiliated positions or posts or actively involved in advocacy of political parties will not be eligible to run for WNO executive body

– Candidate must be knowledgeable and committed to promotion of Newah Culture

– Evidence of active participation in WNO activities for at least three years and continuous involvement and working experience with WNO (as per 4.3 of WNO Constitution). But this requirement does not apply for the life members of the WNO as per article 6.3 of the WNO Constitution.

– A nomination must be supported by 2 WNO members and accepted by the candidate.

– The candidate must be able to effectively communicate in Nepal Bhasa

– Candidate must be committed to dedicate on fulfilling the objectives of WNO

– Candidate must ensure the availability of time for the given position

– Candidates have no right to make decisions or relay messages about the election dates and nomination date deadline., and go beyond the rules and regulation of election committee

– If any of the executive board member or election committee member or advisory board member or ad-hoc committee members are willing to apply for the post, he/she is highly inspired to resign from the post prior to applying for the desired post he/she wants to apply for, However, there is no need for the concerned office bearers to resign if, for some reason, the daily activities of the executive committee are adversely affected and hampered in its execution of its essential activities before the publication of the election results. The Election Commission has always wanted free and fair elections.

– Election Committee will review dues records, WNO joining date, current membership status to determine the eligibility of all nominees. Ineligible nominees will be advised of the reason they are not eligible to run the office

– In case if identified, false activities observed from the candidate applying for the post, the election committee can take lawful action and may immediately disqualify for the election.

– All candidates must submit the copy of the certificate of WNO membership along with the candidacy application form.

– Failure to provide the information timely and in accordance with the terms enumerated in this announcement/letter will be immediate grounds for disqualification at the sole discretion of the committee.

– During the document verification process, if the clauses mentioned in the constitutional documents are not sufficient to justify the issues, the election committee may ask executive board to provide all necessary supporting documents within 24 hours.

– The officers elected will serve three-year terms. Installation of officers will occur at a local executive board meeting on July 31, 2022

– The nomination form and WNO Constitution are available at www.worldnewah.org.

 

Members must register/renew by Thursday, July 7th, 2022, and anyone who becomes a paying member by July 7th, 2022, before midnight will be qualified to vote in this election. The final voter list will be published on Tuesday, July 23rd, 2022, and the election (virtual/electronic online) will be held on Saturday, July 30th, 2022.
